(Adnkronos) – Pope Leo XIV, hospitalized since last Tuesday at the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome for the removal of a lung tumor, will be discharged this afternoon. Doctors Luigi Carbone and Stefano Margaritora explained in their latest medical bulletin that "based on the blood tests, chest X-ray performed this morning, and an assessment of the patient's clinical condition, the Holy Father has been deemed fit for discharge."
Meanwhile, at 12, the Pope will preside over the mass on the tenth floor of the Policlinico.
According to reports, doctors have not mentioned the need for medical supplies for the Pope once he returns to the Vatican Apostolic Palace. Tomorrow, the Pope will recite the Angelus prayer from the window of the papal apartment, the Vatican announced.
