Michielin had found a home in Santa Cruz, a few hundred meters from the ocean, and had prepared to reach his new destination on his motorbike, starting from Italy and crossing Spain.
On July 19th, he shared his plans on Facebook, also sharing the reaction of his mother, 72, suffering from the debilitating effects of a stroke, who had decided to accompany him on the trip. " Mom, I found a job in Tenerife, working in a pub 200 meters from the ocean. I've already taken up residence there ," he wrote, later announcing his departure: " I'm going back to Italy to get my motorbike and I'm going on this long trip, passing through the Maremma region ."
On July 31, he celebrated the end of his adventure with another message on social media: " And we did it! 3600 km of an unforgettable journey, 1900 km of which were on a motorbike, first touring Maremma and then crossing Spain. A fantastic, wonderful experience ." In the post, he thanked the people who had helped him, including his brother Riccardo and his mother, with whom he had shared a special experience.

The news of his death also brought grief to those who had worked with him at the Electrolux plant in Susegana . Representatives of the Fiom-Cgil union (RSU) remembered him with a message that retraced the various stages of his life, from his experience as a factory worker to his passion for the world of beer, up to his management of the Maltese plant , which he sold a few years ago.
" Goodbye Eros, one of us, from a young Electrolux worker to a beer expert ," reads the memoir, which describes him as a " sunny, selective, restless, brilliant, red-faced " man. Affectionate words accompanied by a hug to his loved ones and a phrase that captures the spirit with which Michielin loved to look at life: " Life is too short to be sad too ."
