Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – The Czech Republic, Lithuania, and Austria are the three countries with the highest per capita beer consumption, according to the Kirin Holdings Global Beer Consumption Report. The data refers to 2024, the last year of the survey.
According to the report, the undisputed queen is the Czech Republic, which recorded a per capita consumption of 148,8 litres of beer, confirming its position as world leader in this category for the 32nd consecutive year since 1993.
The top five countries, namely the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Austria, Ireland and Croatia, maintained their positions as the previous year, with no changes in the rankings.
Germany, which ranked eighth the previous year, fell to tenth place, while Slovenia rose from tenth to eighth. Also noteworthy, according to the report, is the fact that in 2024, per capita beer consumption in Japan was 33,7 liters (equivalent to approximately 53,3 633 ml bottles), a decrease of 1,2 633 ml bottles compared to the previous year.
What is striking is that Italy is not only absent from the top 20, but it doesn't even appear in the top 34.
