In a climate of growing political fragmentation, Più Europa-Centro Democratico, Stati Uniti d'Europa has officially submitted a request to the Chamber of Deputies to form a new parliamentary group . The proposal, filed yesterday evening, responds to a regulatory framework that requires the presence of a political force capable of covering all constituencies and having already obtained elected representatives belonging to the indicated symbol.
Application for the new parliamentary group filed
The formal application form was submitted to the Chamber's secretariat, indicating that the authorization criteria had been fully met. Among the reasons highlighted were the ability to intervene at the national level and the presence of elected representatives in each of the electoral districts. The application was submitted with exactly five signatories, the minimum number required to initiate the incorporation process.
Who are the promoters and founding members
The founding core is composed of five parliamentarians: the applicant, Benedetto Della Vedova , Luca Pastorino , Bruno Tabacci , and Aboubakar Soumahoro . Each of them was elected under the aegis of +Europa and shares the goal of giving voice to a broader project of European integration. +Europa Secretary Riccardo Magi confirmed, in an interview with Transatlantico , that the group's composition meets all formal requirements.
Reasons and legal precedents
According to Riccardo Magi, precedents already exist that have allowed the formation of groups with an identical number of members, thus facilitating today's request. Reference to these cases serves to strengthen the legitimacy of the operation and demonstrate that the legislative framework does not pose unexpected obstacles. Furthermore, the group intends to use its presence in Parliament to influence the debate on strategic issues, such as the push for closer political union among member states.
Aim to challenge electoral reform
Another stated goal is the possibility of filing a complaint regarding the signature collection process introduced by the recent electoral reform. The group believes that the current procedures could violate the principles of transparency and parity.
With five members already ready to support the cause, the new parliamentary group is preparing to actively participate in the next round of debates in the Chamber, aiming for a more equitable reform oriented towards European integration.
