(Adnkronos) – "A fair like this, with 600 visitors, many of them international, and a 74% international share of exhibiting companies, speaks a strongly global language. It represents a great opportunity to establish themselves on the international scene not only for motorcycle manufacturers, but also for component suppliers and the entire supply chain.

We really need to push it further every year." These are the words of Matteo Zoppas, president of ICE, the Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies, today in Milan at the press conference presenting EICMA 2026, scheduled for November 3 to 8 at Rho Fiera.

And he adds: “We are the ones who bring the greatest number of buyers and operators, customers who purchase and want to meet our producers.

This year we doubled them because there is a particular focus on Made in Italy." "The government," he continues, "starting with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, through those in charge of growth diplomacy at the Farnesina with Antonio Tajani and through the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy together with the ICE Agency, has created a control room that has sought to significantly increase the available resources.

Precisely for this reason, at Eicma this year we are almost double the number of operators present and bringing around 50 journalists and influencers, for a total of customers and media from at least 70 countries around the world".

"We also make a significant contribution to startups, our small and medium-sized businesses ready to take on new technologies. Those starting out need to look abroad to find new customers, but attracting investment to Italy is also crucial, an aspect we focus on and which can really make a difference," he states. He then focuses on the performance of the two-wheeler market: "Over the past two years, it has lost about 10% annually, while this year the decline seems to be easing. We must consider that we cannot compete with countries like China in mass-produced products, but we must defend our high-value products against competitors who are approaching. We must accelerate by increasing our promotional and development efforts," he concludes. "The more trade we allow our companies to do, the more revenue they generate, and the greater their capacity to invest in research and development. We must do our part, exactly as the government has instructed us to do," he concludes.
