Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – The defense of Catherine Birmingham and Nathan Trevallion, the so-called "family in the woods" of Palmoli (Chieti), has filed an authorized brief with the Juvenile Court of L'Aquila. "In the 36 pages," attorney Simone Pillon said in a statement, "the defense emphasized, among other things, the health of the three minors and the NPI's repeated request regarding the potential serious repercussions of continuing their out-of-home placement; the children's distress and instability during this time of commuting between Palmoli and Vasto; the parents' cooperation; the parents' diligent and productive participation in the parenting support program; the parents' acquisition of the required 'mental flexibility' and 'ability to recognize their children's needs' as well as 'acceptance of their schooling'." The defense concluded by requesting the children's immediate return to their families.
The parents hope for a positive decision soon, in the best interests of their children."
