(Adnkronos) – "The Gabbianello Oasis redevelopment project began with the need to strengthen the functionality of the Oasis' ecosystem and improve water management. Water is, in fact, an extremely important element for protecting wetlands and biodiversity. At Sanpellegrino, we have improved water management systems, expanded the wetlands by over two hectares, and enriched the habitat with native vegetation, paying particular attention to the needs of amphibians and migratory birds.
In addition to these naturalistic interventions, we have also made the Oasis more accessible and usable through a new educational path and tools designed to accompany visitors, schools, and families in discovering this heritage." These are the words of Silvia Galvanin, director of the Acqua Panna establishment, at the presentation of the ecological redevelopment project of the Gabbianello Oasis, on the shores of Lake Bilancino, in Mugello.
The project, supported by Acqua Panna, a Sanpellegrino Group brand, with an investment of over €2 million, has allowed the wetlands to be expanded by 28%, improved water resource management, and created a new educational trail accessible to the blind and visually impaired. The project was presented in the presence of the President of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani, and representatives of local institutions.
