Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – "I believe the Gabbianello Oasis is one of the most beautiful and characteristic areas in Tuscany. It was certainly frequented by Dante Alighieri, who, we know, spent the first moments of his exile here, a few hundred meters away, at Montaccianico Castle. But at the same time, it is a place that, in modern times, has represented the ability to rediscover the area after the creation of the reservoir, with immersion in nature and Lake Bilancino.
"It's clear that the work we see today has created a natural environment with an oasis. Just a few years ago, the vegetation here wouldn't have allowed us to enter and see what we have," said Eugenio Giani, president of the Tuscany Region.
The renovated Gabbianello Oasis, on the shores of Lake Bilancino in Mugello, was inaugurated following an ecological redevelopment project supported by Acqua Panna, a Sanpellegrino Group brand, with an investment of over €2 million.
The interventions have allowed the expansion of the wetlands, protected biodiversity, and created a new educational trail accessible to the blind and visually impaired.
