(Adnkronos) – The new edition of the "Innovators Under 35 Europe" award was presented today during the fourteenth edition of Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition, with the awards ceremony taking place in Italy for the first time. The event thus confirms its role as a European benchmark for innovation, anticipating new trends in technological development and promoting emerging talent.

The initiative is promoted by MIT Technology Review Italia in collaboration with eFM and Opinno, thanks to the support of ROAD – Rome Advanced District and Eni.

The award, created by the historic magazine of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), maps and internationally recognizes the best talents under 35 capable of developing cutting-edge technologies with a strong social, scientific, and economic impact. Throughout its history, the prize has included, before they became known to the general public, figures such as Larry Page, Linus Torvalds, Mark Zuckerberg, Helen Greiner, and Kostya Novoselov.

The strategic partnership with eFM, a leading company in the digitalization of living and working environments, led by Daniele Di Fausto, CEO and Chairman of MIT Technology Review Italia, strengthens the shared commitment to promoting people-centered innovation, fostering a transition focused on human needs and the principle of 'Tech for Humanity': "With Innovators Under 35 Europe," said Daniele Di Fausto, "we want to build a European community of innovators capable of identifying and developing the talents who will shape the future of our society."

For Claudio Granata, President of Road, “the MIT under 35 Award confirms the importance of the role that ROAD and the innovation districts play.

Support the development of entrepreneurship and technology. Be accelerators of applied research and promoters of business and talent.

The choice to launch the new edition of the award at Maker Faire Rome is no coincidence: the event represents a privileged ecosystem where academic research, maker creativity, the business world, and investors meet.

Today, the call officially opened for the next generation of Italian and European talents in science, technology, and business, ready to contribute their ideas and innovations to reshaping the future.

The call, open from October 23, 2026, to May 15, 2027, is open to those under 35 living in one of the participating European countries. There are two ways to participate: directly applying or nominating a third party. Applications will be evaluated by experts and jurors from the innovation ecosystem in nine impactful areas, from biotechnology to artificial intelligence, from climate tech to cybersecurity. The 35 winners will be awarded in autumn 2027. The award is supported by the community, a vast innovation network in Europe: researchers, businesses, academia, institutions, and professionals can join, becoming an active part of an exclusive network of European leaders and innovators.
