Fabio Potestà, Director of MEDIAPOINT & EXHIBITIONS, stated: "This second day confirms the value of conferences as an integral part of trade fairs: not just opportunities to showcase products and technologies, but also moments to take stock of industry challenges, compare experiences, and identify potential solutions. We want T3 Expo and AGV Expo to increasingly become centers of expertise and places for qualified discussion, capable of connecting companies, experts, and operators, fostering knowledge sharing and the ability to collaborate."

Reducing emissions therefore depends on both innovation in design and the day-to-day management of vehicles and fleets, leveraging the intervention options companies can adopt to improve transport efficiency. This includes the contribution of AITE – Italian Association of Exceptional Transport, which sponsored T3 Expo. President Antonio Catiello emphasizes the strategic role of the sector and the importance of dialogue among operators to support the sector's evolution. "Exceptional transport plays a strategic role in supporting industry, infrastructure, and major energy projects, but today the sector requires significant regulatory updates to align with European standards and streamline procedures that impact business operations. At the same time, the evolution of conversions, specialized semi-trailers, and technologies for safety and transport management is opening up new development opportunities. In this context, T3 Expo represents an important opportunity for carriers, manufacturers, and conversion companies to engage in dialogue, fostering the essential need to transform the market's operational needs into concrete and innovative solutions for the future of the sector," states Catiello.

In the afternoon, the T3 Expo program focused on protecting roadside assistance companies, with a focus on risk prevention, operator protection, and tools to protect business owners. With the involvement of ADA (National Association of Vehicle Dismantler) and ANCSA (National Association of Vehicle Dismantler Centers), the discussion focused on vehicle management, the role of vehicle dismantler companies, and their relationship with government institutions, as well as regulatory aspects and responsibilities related to the business. Valentina Varini, president of ADA, emphasized "the need to participate in the technical discussions called to define new rules for the collection, storage, and treatment of damaged vehicles, to protect companies and workers. Among the main unknowns are those related to lithium batteries in electric vehicles, for which both technology and management procedures are evolving, while the industry awaits clearer guidance on the future role of vehicle dismantler companies in their recovery and treatment." Santo Coppolino, representing ANCSA, emphasized the need to strengthen regulation in the sector, starting with the establishment of a register of roadside assistance workers through an amendment to the Highway Code. "We must address increasingly complex issues, including those related to electrified vehicles: we need professionalism, clear rules, and an end to improvisation. The safety of our workers means ensuring greater safety for road users as well," Coppolino emphasized, further highlighting the need to address the challenges facing the sector, which is grappling with rising costs and the need for clear rules on both ordinary roads and highways.

On the automation front, AGV Expo hosted the conference "AGVs and AMRs put to the test in a real warehouse," dedicated to the applications of automated guided vehicles and autonomous mobile robots in logistics settings. Among the solutions presented was Proxaut's new Under-X, a compact autonomous vehicle designed to make fleets more flexible and configurable, with a lifting capacity of up to 1.200 kilograms.

“At this first edition of AGV Expo, we're presenting a new product we've called Under-X, a new compact autonomous vehicle designed to make AGV fleets increasingly flexible, intelligent, and configurable. Under-X can lift up to 1.200 kg, both pallets and other types of load units,” said Michele Riva, CEO of Proxaut. A case study from the food industry in Hungary was also presented during the conference. “We presented a real-world example of a food warehouse we built last year in Hungary. We thus demonstrated how AGV applications can interface very quickly and effectively even in challenging work environments, such as the cold and humid one of our Hungarian client,” added Riva. The experience highlights the potential of automation in real-world operating conditions, even in environments with particular constraints for goods handling. Solutions for making internal handling more flexible and tailored to business needs were also showcased during the conference. “We presented new solutions with smaller, more agile, and more flexible products. and we are also introducing a new cleaning robot. We are able to customize our products according to the customer's needs, helping them define and improve processes and providing them with an appropriate solution,” said Gianni Cossar, CEO of Neura Mobile Robots.

The second day's themes thus connect technological innovation, sustainability, and safety, through discussions between companies, specialists, and operators called upon to respond to the needs of an evolving sector. The day will conclude with a gala dinner at the Galleria del Collegio Alberoni in Piacenza, an opportunity to continue the discussion in an informal setting, foster networking between companies and operators, and strengthen relationships between the various players in the supply chain, with a view to building a system and developing new collaboration opportunities for the sector. T3 Expo and AGV Expo continue at Piacenza Expo until Saturday, October 24.
