Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – The Pope, “to aid his recovery following thoracic surgery last Tuesday, following the advice of his doctors, will not be able to be present in Assisi on October 27, as planned, for the meeting 'Disarmed and Disarming Peace', on the 40th anniversary of the World Day of Prayer for Peace, convened by Saint John Paul II.”
The Vatican makes this known.
The Pope, the Vatican explains, "will send a message of closeness to the organizers, leaders, and representatives of Christian denominations and religions, as well as to the guests who will be present, in the belief that the 'spirit of Assisi,' dialogue, and the search for words and gestures of peace are precious resources in an age of conflict."
