(Adnkronos) – The ecological redevelopment project of the Gabbianello Oasis, on the shores of Lake Bilancino in Mugello, has been completed. The project, supported by Acqua Panna, a Sanpellegrino Group brand, with an investment of over €2 million, has expanded the wetlands by 28% and created a new educational trail accessible to the blind and visually impaired.
The project was presented in the presence of the President of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani, and representatives of local institutions.
"The redevelopment of the Gabbianello Oasis is a project close to our hearts because it means preserving areas precious to the biodiversity of Mugello, and we have done so by making available the experience we have gained managing the Acqua Panna estate," said Ilenia Ruggeri, General Manager of the Sanpellegrino Group. "We began by listening to the local communities to create a project that truly meets their needs.
Working with the Municipality of Barberino di Mugello and our scientific partners, we have expanded the wetlands and created natural habitats for amphibians and migratory birds. The Gabbianello Oasis redevelopment project is a concrete example of the FONTE project, a program created to provide continuity and a long-term vision to the projects we have been developing with local communities for years, focusing on water protection and biodiversity.
