Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – The dark November of strikes has begun. From buses to subways, from schools to trains and airplanes, including public sector employment and telecommunications, the heated month of protests is heating up, culminating on the 20th, when demonstrators will take to the streets for the general strike called by the CGIL (Italian General Confederation of Labour) led by General Secretary Maurizio Landini.
Here's the calendar with dates to mark, including stops and possible inconveniences.
Trains are at risk between November 20th and 21st due to the national strike called by SGB and CUB Trasporti from 9:00 PM on the 20th to 8:00 PM on the 21st. At the local level, the protest will focus on Verona on November 9th, due to the mobilization called by Orsa Ferrovie from 9:01 AM to 5:00 PM.
From November 10th to 11th, rail freight transport in Lombardy will be halted with a strike by SBB Cargo Italia workers called by Filt Cgil from 9:00 PM on the 10th to 4:59 AM on the 11th.
The national strike called by SGB and CUB Trasporti between November 20 and 21 will affect not only rail transport but also rail freight transport and local public transport.
The hours remain the same: from 9:00 PM on the 20th to 8:00 PM on the 21st.
There will also be a long list of local protests: on November 9th in Palermo from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (CUB Trasporti); on November 10th, it will be the turn of transport in Cosenza, from 9:59 a.m. to 1:59 p.m. (Faisa Cisal); on November 13th, it will be the turn of Venice, for the whole day (SGB, Fast Mobilita), and transport in Milan, Monza, and Brianza, with a strike by the ATM group; on November 14th, a 24-hour strike is planned in Bari, in compliance with the guaranteed time slots, called by Uitrasporti, Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, and Ugl; on November 16th, it will be Naples' turn, with a strike by ANM workers, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., called by Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl Fna, and Faisa Cisal.
For those planning a flight, the date to keep in mind is November 21st, the day of the national strike by ENAV workers, called by Filt Cgil and Ugl Ta from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. ENAV workers will also strike locally on November 6th in Bari from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and on November 22nd in Varese from 12:01 AM to 12:00 AM (the protest was called by Fast Confsal Av Unica).
Among other protests worth noting, on November 20th the CGIL general strike will intersect with the national school and public sector strike called for the entire day by USB Pubblico Impiego.
On November 11th, a national strike will be held in the telecommunications sector, called for an all-day strike by Ugl Telecomunicazioni and Slc Cgil, Fistel Cisl, and Uilfpc Uil. On November 23rd, Iren employees (Filctem Cgil, Femca Cisl, Flaei Cisl, and Uiltec Uil) will strike nationwide.
